SpecPro: An IDL Program for Viewing and Analyzing Astronomical Spectra
Download Data Formats Tutorial Wrappers Interface Credits
SpecPro is an interactive program for viewing and analyzing spectra, particulary in the context of modern imaging surveys. In addition to displaying the 1D and 2D spectrum, SpecPro can simultaneously display available stamp images as well as the spectral energy distribution of a source. This extra information can help significantly in assessing a spectrum.
SpecPro is described in detail in this paper.
Key Program Capabilities:
Automated redshift determination using a variety of galaxy spectral templates
Overlay common emission and absorption lines for various galaxy types
Bin, smooth, and zoom on 1D spectrum
Display stamp images, spectral energy distribution of source
Easily navigate through spectra and save redshifts to file
Automated reextraction of 1D spectrum from 2D, in case of serendipitous spectra
